A clinically proven intervention for attention deficits.

Cogmed Working Memory Training is a comprehensive 5-week home based program designed to help children, adolescents and adults with attention deficits by training and increasing their working memory capacity.

Through rigorous and sustained mental exercises, working memory can be trained and executive functioning can improve. Clinical results demonstrate significant improvements in attention and related cognitive abilities.

    • It is computer-based training done in the home for 25 daily sessions over 5 weeks.
    • There is plenty of flexibility for families/individuals to set their own training schedule.
    • Cogmed’s proprietary software automatically increases in difficulty during the program
to gradually improve the participant’s abilities.
    • Each participant trains with a Personal Coach who leads the training, tracks results and
gives encouragement and motivation. This results in 90% compliance.

The complete program includes:

Initial interview, start-up session, 5 weeks of training with weekly Personal Coach calls, follow-up session, software and user guide.

Supported by peer-reviewed research studies and clinical implementation

Developed in conjunction with the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, one of Europe’s leading medical institutes, Cogmed Working Memory training has been in clinical use in Sweden since 2003 and was introduced to the U.S. in 2006.

A substantial body of clinical research documents the efficacy of our program. Most notably, Klinberg’s 2005 study showed it to be effective via a placebo-controlled, multi-center trial. There was a significant treatment effect for non-trained tasks measuring visuo-spatial and verbal working memory, response inhibition and complex reasoning directly after and three months after training.

Further research is currently underway at leading U.S. universities.
